“NO, CAPITALISM: I EXPECT YOU TO DIE” 53H
Before our very eyes, he is morphing into an epic villain. Bill “Blofeld” Gates, the billionaire Microsoft founder, is seeking to control the world. In the November 2015 issue of The Atlantic magazine, Gates goes after — with a vengeance — all that is thwarting his global warming agenda. His arch-enemy: CO2. Doing his best impersonation of a movie megalomaniac. Gates swears he wants to “change energy — and that includes all of transport, all of electricity, all of household usage, and all of industrial usage.” Everywhere on earth. By 2050, he wants America’s carbon emissions to be: zero. Nirvana! The planet conquered!
What is standing in his way? Fossil fuels. Capitalism. Democracy.
To fix all that, he wants you to pay. Central to his climate-change combat arsenal: a steep carbon tax. Then he will deploy government — to invent stuff to replace oil. People think energy is more of a private-sector thing than it is. …
Since World War II, U.S.-government R&D has defined the state of the art in almost every area.” Yes, government masterminds. “The private sector is in general inept,” he smiles. “How many companies do venture capitalists invest in that go poorly? By far most of them.”
The “inept” private sector made him the world’s richest man. But evil genius outgrows such pesky details — the warming fever has taken over. Gates has no time for Stupid elected officials who question the temperature data: “If you’re not bringing math skills to the problem” of global warming, “then representative democracy is a problem.
Socialism is far better! Global domination is achievable! Meanwhile Gates advocates funding, I kid you not, ideas like “taking sunlight and making oil directly out of sunlight.”
He can ponder such lofty concepts, and how they could reduce mankind’s carbon footprint, on his massive private jet, a Bombardier BD-700 Global Express that can seat 19 people.
And, easily, a cat. As the plane soars above the polluted skies of China one can hear a villainous voice echoing through the smog: “Kill capitalism! Now!”
